This is a group that has been in the works since 2023. It all started with an idea by Lia, Area212’s founder and leader. 212 was born with a distinct vision to represent the new generation of New York City’s vibrant culture of music, performance and fashion through the vessel of a girl group. From day one, the focus has always been on building group identity. We are more than excited to execute this vision.

The purpose of Area212 starts with the name itself - (212) being the very first NYC area code is something that holds a lot of weight. This iconic area code has been referenced throughout media for decades, and we aim to keep the history alive. In order to achieve that goal, we aim to connect people the way our old phone lines did… with our voices. This time - with a modern twist of current-day technology. Now more than ever, everyone is extremely accessible… but this doesn’t necessarily mean we’re all connected. Area212 aims to bring that connection back through our music.
